Almost gone.

Karen was 5 days away from losing a 15 year-old account. It was her Australian agency's bread and butter. It was her biggest and most prized client...a client she knew well and had a very good relationship with. The problem was, since the client's policy dictates occasional RFP's, and upper management was making the decision, those good relationships only had a limited impact.

Upper management was looking at the designs, at the renderings, at the floor plans, at the rationale, and at the bottom line. They didn't know Karen like her day-to-day contact did. They knew the great work that Karen's agency, CCD, had done for them over the years, but they were more focused on what's next instead of right now.

Making a decision.

Karen understood the importance of winning the RFP. She initially tried to get her internal design team to push the boundaries, but because they had been working for this client for so many years, she realized she needed to get a new perspective. For this project she needed additional strategic thinkers.

Karen understood the importance of hiring the best creatives out there, no matter where in the world they were located. She understood the long-term view, and the long-term consequences of trying to save a few dollars. She realized that the investment, although seemingly higher compared to other creative agencies, was worth it because the long-term, continuous revenue the investment would generate for her agency. People's jobs depended on the outcome of this RFP. Their families depended it.

Karen was up to the task, and was determined to win. Even 5 days away when it seemed like PICO international had won it, she still did not give up. That's when she got in contact with us.

In the balance.

As Karen explained her situation to us, we felt her pain, her stress, and her determination. As it currently stood, PICO was the winner...but we had 5 days to change that. The agency's biggest client and multiple jobs and families hung in the balance. We had a huge task ahead of us, and we became as determined as Karen to provide a positive outcome for her and CCD. As we worked, we researched, wrote, gathered, modeled, rendered, refined, and finally delivered the PDF deck that would hopefully save the day. All our work, thought, stress, and effort was condensed into the 10MB PDF that was ready to send to the client.

Everything hung in the balance on that one file.

A week later we heard the great news that because of our efforts together, the client chose our concept and strategy over PICO's, and that it will be their look for the next 5 years. Karen and her coworkers were elated and relieved, and we were humbled to be able to take part in such a tough but satisfying effort.
